Dubai’s well-know developer Nakheel joins hands with America’s hotel and leisure firm Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide to open a St Regis hotel on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah. The 52-storey luxury mixed-use development will be a part of the Palm Tower which is scheduled to start its operation in 2018.
According to Neil George, Senior Vice President, Acquisitions & Development at Starwood, the new collaborative development is going to strengthen Starwood’s growth in Dubai. The company has been seeing a huge demand for high-end hotel accommodations in Dubai. He further goes on to say, “The continued growth of the St Regis brand in the UAE underpins our commitment to Starwood’s luxury portfolio in this dynamic market”
The St Regis hotel will comprise 289 guest rooms, which includes 23 suites, occupying the first 18 floors of The Palm Tower where as the upper floors will feature 504 luxury apartments. The luxury hotel will also consist of two swimming pools, which includes an infinity pool considered as one of the world’s highest pools.
The American company has plans to expand the St. Regis brand in the Middle East. Following are the two projects the company is going to launch:
- St. Regis Amman set to start operations in 2016
- St. Regis Dubai Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club set to open in 2018.
